OIL AND GAS
Reliable power supply for pipelines
How can you ensure that your SCADA systems have a reliable power supply even in remote areas?
Imagine you are responsible for supplying power to a vast pipeline in a remote, extreme environment. The challenges are immense: vast areas, extreme temperatures ranging from freezing cold to scorching hot and the need to prevent corrosion on gas pipelines. This is no easy endeavour.
But Remote provides relief. Our innovative fuel cell generators are designed to bring autonomy to these off-grid pipeline infrastructures to supply your SCADA systems with sufficient power.
With amazing maintenance intervals of 10,000 hours and the option of remote monitoring, we offer innovative solutions. The use of autonomous drone systems also plays a key role in avoiding expensive and environmentally damaging aircraft missions for inspections, for example.
Here, you find some projects that we in the field of oil and gas that we have already successfully implemented.
POWER FOR SABAH-SARAWAK GAS PIPELINE BLOCK VALVE STATIONS
BORNEO, SABAH STATE (MALAYSIA)
Remote 400 delivers its full output even under tropical conditions. It has replaced the previous inefficient power generators with only 3% efficiency at block valve stations on Petronas’ Sabah-Sarawak gas pipeline since 2022. The Remote 400 reliably provides power for block valve operation as well as SCADA and communications equipment. CO₂ emissions can thus be reduced
by up to 90 %.
POWER SUPPLY FOR THE OPERATION OF A HIGH-PRESSURE PIPELINE
SOUTH RUSSIA
Russia is crisscrossed by a gigantic network of pipelines. In the south of the country, the Remote 400 was used for several years to generate electricity for operating safe shut-off valves. The required fuel gas was supplied directly from the high-pressure pipeline.
POWER SOURCE FOR DRONE SYSTEMS TRANSFORMS INFRA-INSPECTION.
ALBERTA (CANADA)
Ensol Systems Inc. and Chartis Remote Sensing Solutions present a groundbreaking solution for inspecting critical infrastructure in remote areas. The autonomous „drone-in-a-box“ technology enables multiple daily inspection flights without relying on pilots on site. Powered by a Remote 400 propane fuel cell with optional solar integration, it offers months of autonomy and minimal maintenance.
